It is really important to me that I live with passion and purpose. I find the best way to do this is to set weekly goals that act like mini-achievements. Like looking back on the year that was on New Years’ Eve, I love to look back each Sunday night on the week just passed and evaluate what I have achieved that week. It is all too easy for our days and weeks to slip by us without us making even so much as a dent in our goals or worldly dreams. By setting myself weekly intentions, I want to cover everything, small to big, and make sure I do it. To this end, I want my intentions to be visible to you as readers of this blog. Not only will this keep me accountable, but I hope it will inspire you to also set your own benchmarks of achievement and move towards attaining more of what makes you happy. Each week, when setting my new intentions, I will report back on the progress of my earlier goals to let you know how they went.
This week, my intentions are:
- Run more. I am spending the whole week in the Hamptons this week. Without having access to my usual gym (and therefore my usual resistance workouts), I love running up here. The streets are gorgeous and there are so many amazing mansions houses to gawk at which provide perfect distraction. I am aiming for three 10km runs.
- Progress more with my Italian. I have gone back to learning Italian and I absolutely love it. I studied Italian for 11 years both at high school and university. I have always loved foreign languages and have immersed myself back into this world via an online course.
- Write a letter to my Grandmother. Since I moved to New York, my Grandmother has been avidly writing me letters. It is always a thrill when I receive one of her letters in the mail. She has started spraying her perfume on each page and the smell brings me straight back home. I love our letter banter and have been saving each precious letter she sends.
- Seek out one new healthy/farm-to-table restaurants in the Hamptons and try it out. I love exploring new places to eat and the Hamptons is brimming with options. Perhaps a road trip to Southampton or Montauk is on the cards to try some local and fresh fare.
What about you? What are your intentions this week?
