Pickle in the Middle

Blink and you will miss it - Pickle in the Middle, tucked away in a busy strip of Unley Road, is a force to be reckoned with.

Come for the breakfast, stay for the preserves. As its name suggests Pickle in the Middle loves to pickle and preserve. With a plant based menu, the light and airy space serves brekkie and lunch, with most menu offerings topped with a little taste of their heavenly yet punchy preserves.

Where Pickle distinguishes itself from other neighbourhood offerings is in its focus on the fresh and clean. Bacon is noticably absent on this menu (although pork lovers can chose to supplement with free range ham), and instead, food options range from breakfast greens to house made crumpets.

Gratefully absent from the menu also is the cheap and nasty gluten-free bread options carried by most cafes. Pickle supplements it's celiac and gluten-wary customers with its own version of house made seed bread, made with a divine (and filling) range of nuts and seeds. This bread really does lift your average avo toast to another level.

Don't stop at the food here however. Pickle offers a range of delicious (and actually healthy) smoothies and juices. Forward thinking again, their orange juice features anti-inflammatory favourite tumeric, and their smoothies are made with house made nut milk. Oh, and the coffee is to boot too, with cold brew on offer, which is always a tick in my book.

A local Unley favourite not to be missed, Pickle impresses on all fronts.
